Andie walked into the amphitheater and looked around. She saw the stone benches, waiting to seat an audience to come watch an amazing performance. Andie began to quietly sing a song that she had stuck in her head. Unfortunately for her, it ended up being broadcast quite loudly. Andie had forgotten that amphitheaters echoed, but she didn't really care. As she sang and looked around, she noticed that the stage was clean. It appeared that she was the first one to step on the performance area. Ironically, she was performing, if that was what you wanted to call it. She let the lyrics to the song flow out of her mouth in perfect time, even without hearing the song. she stopped to look at something a bit closer. It was an instrument very similar to a piano, but she wasn't sure if that's what it was. Andie wasn't very good at playing piano, but she ran her fingers over the keys, playing a few of them as it seemed to fit.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Raiju loved nothing more than a good chase. With speed and a playful mood he darted through the hallways, meowing occasionally to alert the other to his presence.
Now, Raiju wasn't chasing some helpless mouse. He wasn't chasing anything. Raiju was being chased by a teenage boy who had to move slowly in the hallways when another human appeared, as to appear 'normal'. As though he were normal! Raiju stopped in the middle of the hallway when he heard singing echoing from an open door. Curious, he moved toward the door, searching for the cause. With none in sight he turned his gaze back to the hallway he was standing in. Kazumichi was just turning the corner.
"There you are,"Kazi grinned. Raiju didn't waste anytime racing into the strange theatre. Kazi groaned, but followed into the ampitheatre, then down the aisle as Raiju walked leisurely, amused, under the seats. The singing surrounding the two made Kazi smile calmly as he kept his eyes on the kitten.
Silence seemed to envelop them just as soon as it had seemed to start, which had Kazi looking to the stage, baffled. There was a girl he hadn't noticed before who wasn't playing the piano, yet was awfully close to it anyway.
Raiju, while Kazi was distracted, took it as a chance to rush from under the chairs and up onto the stage where he curiously moved toward the girl.
"Meow,"Raiju offered hopefully. Kazi's eyes left the girl to focus on the cat, though he stayed where he was.

Andie looked up to see a pretty cat, and she smiled at it. "Oh, hello, my pet," she said in a soothing voice as she stroked it. Andie had always loved cats, especially since the goddess she took after, Sekhmet, was depicted as a woman with the head of a lioness. She continued to stroke it several times as she played a few notes on the piano that she stood in front of. She looked up and saw a boy on the stage behind the cat and jumped, startled. "Oh! Hello. I didn't see you there. I'm Andie. Who are you?" she asked curiously while she offered him a handshake.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Raiju purred immediately, content by the attention from another human. When the other human noticed Kazi, Raiju answered for him.
"Kazi."the kitten's word came out as a meow. Kazumichi glanced down at the cat anyway before looking back to Andie.
"I'm Kazumichi."Kazi stated with a friendly smile as he accepted the gesture, taking Andie's hand in his own. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Andie."
"Kazi!"Raiju intercepted, meaning to correct him. Kazumichi was too long, and not his name at all in Raiju's mind. Kazi ignored it, going on with what he had meant to say.
"And he's Raiju."Kazi added as a way of introduction. The cat didn't seem to mind too much. Kazi was sure he'd verbalize any grievance. . .
"You've got a nice voice."Kazi offered honsetly. He was referring to the singing, particularly, but her voice when she spoke wasn't bad, either.

Andie smiled at the boy. "Kazumichi? Did I say that right?" Andie asked with a giggle. "Raiju, eh? Is this beautiful cat a boy or girl?" She heard him compliment her voice. "Thank you. It's not often that I get compliments." She looked the boy over. He was obviously of Asian descent, but he was interesting. He seemed somewhat shy and quiet. He also looked like he was a laid-back kind of person. Andie admired that.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Raiju moved closer to Kazi, licking at his pant leg. Kazi grinned momentarily at the cat; okay, he was right, he should have said Kazi.
"Yeah. But you can call me Kazi if you prefer."Kazi offered passively. As long as she knew what his name was, surely it'd be alright to go by a nickname. It was only a problem when someone he knew well started refering to him by his full name, and the other person thought he was a total idiot for 'lying' to them. Ah well, couldn't please everyone.
Raiju looked up at Andie, giving a soft his of discontent. Boy or girl? He couldn't help but feel a bit offended.
Kazi on the other hand couldn't blame her for not knowing, so with a murmured 'hush' in Raiju's direction, he answered her question.
"Raiju's a devious boy. Maybe a girl would have been sweeter, bur Raiju's pretty cool too."Kazi offered, throwing in the compliment toward Raiju to keep from offending him. Not that he'd stay mad long.
"You're quite welcome,"Kazi smiled in reference to her saying thanks for the compliment.

Andie sighed. "Thanks, Kazi's much easier. Oh, by the way, Andie's only my nickname. My full first name is Andrea, but I prefer Andie. Raiju's a boy? That makes perfect sense. Well, he's a handsome little devil, isn't he?" she asked while stroking the cat again. Andie was fairly cat-like herself. She had a simply smooth voice like a cat's meow, and the large, almond-shaped eyes. Andie thought she was very cat-like.
Andie turned back to Kazi. "So, which god do you take after?" she asked, curious to see what kinds of cultures the school had. "I take after Sekhmet, Egyptian goddess of healing and war."

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Kazi nodded. He'd go with whatever she prefered. As for her complimenting Raiju, it definitely had an effect. Raiju purred, moving closer to Andie again as she stroked him. When she stopped paying attention to watch Kazi, Raiju laid himself down on her foot, his intent being to keep her where she was to ensure she'd be around to pet him again.
"Yeah, guess he is,"Kazi chuckled to her saying he was handsome. Kazi had been fairly certain he'd love Raiju no matter what he looked like, even if he was a hairless cat- which, Kazi was sure, would be weird-. Just so long as he wasn't a praying mantis or anything. . .Kazi's mind shifted to her question. Who did he take after? When she stated she took after an Egyptian goddess, Kazi nodded. Healing and war?
"Well, if it's raining, I can make it really loud when I clap if that counts for anything."Kazi kidded."No, really. Raijin, Japanese god of thunder and lightning. That's what got me stuck with Raiju, he's like my eternal companion I guess. Playful little rascal, always running off. . .Anyway, war and healing, that's pretty sweet- I mean, that's pretty cool."

Andie chuckled slightly at his correcting himself. "Yeah, especially because that makes me strong and good with medical things. The Japanese god of thunder, huh. That's interesting. Raiju does seem like the type of cat that's playful and mischievous. I think he's very fond of me the way he's laying on my foot." Andie chuckled and picked the cat up, beginning to pet him.
Andie smiled at Kazi. She had a feeling that she'd like him, and his cat. She could feel that they would be fast friends. "So, what classes do you have, Kazi? Ah, that's much easier to say. Sorry, I have a habit of thinking out loud," she said sheepishly.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "I spend a lot of time chasing him around,"Kazi explained. At least she was agreeing with him, though. Kazi tended to act as though he didn't like the mischevious nature, but it was cute in it's own way. It became who Raiju was to him, and he loved Raiju without really knowing why he did.
"Don't have to,"Raiju objected as he relaxed in Andie's arms. Why did Kazi have to chase him, anyway? Raiju wasn't sure. Kazi was too protective, as though his life rested in the hands of the cat; which, Raiju knew, it didn't. Raiju purred again, closing his eyes.
"Don't, Rai?"Kazi repeated in response, shaking his head though the smile stayed on his expression. When he realized he'd said it aloud he moved his hand to the back of his head nervously."I spend way too much time alone. Heh, anyway, no problem. Um, classes. . .Martial arts, elemental, weather class, German, and uh, knowledge something or other, and war studies. Then a few others. That was. . .I dunno. I have nine classes total. Anyway, what about you?"

Andie nodded thoughtfully as she listened. When Kazi asked her about her classes, she responded quickly. "English and lit., French, ancient civilizations, band, martial arts, basic theories and guidelines, and physical powers. That's it. I only have seven classes to your nine, but I figured that's all I need. So, you're taking German? You want to visit Germany?"

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have taken so many, but it'll be fun, I'm sure."
"I was born and raised in Japan, and it's beautiful. Lovely, amazing place. But Germany? It'd be awesome to see it. Someday, I will."Kazi stated confidently with a smile. Germany, his favorite foreign country ever. "And, the autobahn, it'd be awesome. France is pretty close to Germany in location. If you're taking French, is that where you want to go?" Kazi knew that there were other places that spoke French, but what little girl didn't dream of Paris, France at least once? It seemed the logical choice to guess.

Kazi had asked Andie if she'd like to visit France. "Why, yes, actually. I love France, and my mother is part French. Okay, actually, she's All French." Andie smiled and looked down at the cat she was petting. "So, have any idea what kind of cat Raiju is?"

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "That's cool."Her saying she wanted to go where her parents came from got him thinking. His parents came from Japan, as had his grandparents, and their grandparents, and theirs. He had once done a project, and while other kids got to point out that their great great great grandmother was Irish, he had merely been able to say his family had been in Japan for a very, very long time. It was actually boring to think he'd been in one place so lnog. Which made coming to this school a welcomed change of pace, even if it was a bit odd to hear them speak English opposed to Japanese. Not that he hadn't learned English at an early age, just that Japanese used to be the language everyone that he knew spoke. Now? No one did.
Raiju definitely wasn't as concerned as Kazi was. He nuzzled his nose into Andie's arm quite contently.
"Mmm, no."Kazi admitted with a slight blush. "To be honest, I know very little about cats. I've never had a cat, aside from him, and I've never wanted a cat- or any animal- before."

"I see,"Andie replied when Kazi told her about Raiju. "I was just curious. He seems to be taking quite a liking to me, Kazi. Are you jealous," she teased. "I joke, I joke. I kid, I kid." She stroked Raiju gently and continuously, which he seemed to enjoy very much. "Well, Kazi, I think I must go explore the rest of the school," she said, handing Raiju over to his rightful owner. "Sorry, Raiju. You're a handsome cat, but I can't pet you forever. I'll see you around, Kazi," she said before walking off to explore the outside. Andie needed a taste of nature.
