Option one: go to room, do homework.
Option two: forget homework, go have some fun.
Dani had opted for option two. After all, homework would always be there, but a chance to dip in the outdoor pool wouldn't. Clad in a robe to cover herself, and to use to dry off later, Dani emerged outside and made her way towards said pool. She was used to colder days than this, back home the temperature never rose too much.
She looked down at the crystal blue water, tipping her tow in. Warm. she frowned slightly, cold water was always more fun. She removed the robe, revealing a body clad in a black bikini that left very little to the imagination. Unlike some more modest people, Dani was proud of the looks she had. It wasn't easy maintaining it, she doubted anyone else had gotten their physique manning a crab boat.
She checked herself over, making sure she wasn't discharging any electricity. then stood at the pool's edge. Taking a deep breath, she dove on in, her form leaving only a small trace of a splash as the Nordic thunder goddess submerged herself in the crystalline blue water.

There were a lot of important things Aura could have been doing as of now. Aura could have been tackling that ever growing pile of homework before it tackled her, she could have been studying for exams and such, and she even could have been cleaning up her room. But Aura was doing none of these things. Instead she was making her way to the pool for a bit of relaxation at last. Sporting her skimpy bright blue bikini with only a pair of tiny black shorts covering her lower half, she made her way through campus to the pool. Ignoring the stares she got Ausra climbed up to the three tiered pool and found an open chair. With a soft sigh she laid her bright purple beach towel out on the chair and dropping her tote bag to the ground she stretched out on her towel.
Looking out across the pool to see who was about Aura's eyes widened. At the sight of the girl on the other side of the pool Aura immediately felt self concious. She wished she could look like that in her bikini instead of her only slightly curvy, pale as paper self. She huffed and laid back onto the chair twisting her dark locks up into a messy knot that hung loosely to the side of her head. Pouting she glanced down at herself. She was just glad she could pull off a bikini at all in the end. But still. Aura glanced up one last time to she the girl disappear into the water before closing her eyes and soaking up the suns light, almost quite literally.

Dani skimmed along the pool's bottom, letting the cool water flow past her. It was warmer than the waters back home, and lacked the crispness and bits of floating ice. And fish. She floated to the surface, laying on her back and looking up at the glorious sunny day. Normally she preferred the storms to such calm weather, but she doubted the other girl at the pool would share such an appreciation. Howling winds, torrential rains, and the booming thunder of a sky torn by lightning was Dani's thing.
She swam over and pulled herself up, dripping wet and practically glowing in the midday sun. "Good day," she said, her voice betraying a light hint of her Norwegian accent. "It is a beautiful day, no?"

Aura heard the light splashing noises and could tell that the other girl had surfaced again. It surprised her; however, when she heard the sounds getting closer. Glancing up just as the girl spoke she smiled politely and nodded. "It's a perfect day. Especially for swimming and whatnot." She said shielding her eyes to glance up at the nearly cloudless skies. It was indeed a beautiful day to be outside in the sunshine. If Aura didn't get sunshine she began to feel almost ill. It was odd and she didn't like it because she loved rain as well. but it was another thing she had to deal with being a goddess so closely tied with the sun. She smiled back down at the girl and couldn't help to compare the glow of her own skin to the girls. She herself glowed like a reflection of the light, her skin almost sparkling. It was dazzling to look at, but very different from the girls gentle glow.

The Nordic Thunderer nodded in agreement. "It is not what I am used to. Back home, the skies are usually gray, and 'swimming weather' means the water is not frozen," she said. "but I also have to be careful. My skin is not made for sun, and sunburns are no fun." She looked around for her bag, at the other side of the pool. Whoops. She got up and stretched out, looking the girl up and down. Kind of cute.
"Ah, I am being rude, am I not? I am Dani. I apologize if my words seem... strange. I am not a native English speaker." She'd grown up learning Norwegian and Dutch, and while she could speak English well enough, some of the nuances of the language evaded her.

Aura smiled at the girl. "Oh, really? That's cool. The weather where I'm from is pretty similar to here, I guess." She said, meaning New York and not Reykjavik. Although the clouds seemed to be more plentiful back in the city. Ausra couldn't really recall how the weather had been back home in Iceland. "Even though I'm really pale, I hardly burn at all, but I never tan ever." She added, frowning slightly as she sat up and glanced at her ever pale arms. When the other girl pulled herself out of the pool Aura couldnl[ help but look her over with a quick glance. "I'm Ausra. And it's alright. My first languages were Icelandic and Russian, so I know how you feel." Aura said. She was sure, even though she only spoke Icelandic with her mother and she hadn't been to Rekjavik in a few good years, that her accent was hinted at in her words. Try as she may, she couldn't get rid of that damn accent.

Dani giggled lightly as the girl confessed her own foreign heritage. "Mine is Norwegian, and my second language is Dutch," she said. "There were not many English speakers in my village, so I did not use it often," she further added. he only one she could remember were the men who came to buy the crabs. She grinned slightly at Ausra. "Do you like what you see?" she wondered. She'd always been open about her preferences, not really seeing any point in hiding them.
